The hotel brand, which is part of Ennismore, will debut on the Gold Coast in 2025

Lifestyle hotel brand Mondrian will arrive on Australian shores next year with the opening of Mondrian Gold Coast in Burleigh Heads. The brand, which is a part of Ennismore – one of the world’s fastest-growing lifestyle hospitality companies – began in Los Angeles, where the first Mondrian opened in 1996, and now comprises a collection of 11 properties located in cities around the world known for their cultural dynamism such as Doha, Hong Kong, Cannes and Seoul.

Digital renders of the new property suggest it will be an architecturally sophisticated addition to the Gold Coast skyline. The 24-storey structure has been envisioned by Australia’s Fraser & Partners, offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Burleigh’s beachfront and the lush hinterlands.

The interiors, conceptualised by the award-winning Studio Carter, will nod to the textures and tones of the region’s coastal location, with 208 rooms – including luxurious Beach Houses and the opulent Sky House – on offer.

The dining offering will include a ground-floor restaurant with an outdoor terrace – designed by esteemed Sydney-based interiors firm Alexander &Co, and a third-floor oceanfront restaurant and pool club that will focus on showcasing the Gold Coast’s finest local produce.

A state-of-the-art wellness space and spa featuring advanced treatments will also be available, along with a hybrid event space catering to both business and social gatherings.

The Gold Coast opening represents a significant milestone in Mondrian’s global expansion, further solidifying its presence in the Asia-Pacific region. “Over the last couple of years, we have seen a rising demand for lifestyle brands, where locals and international guests are looking for authentic, creative, and immersive experiences – all the hallmarks of the Mondrian brand,” Chadi Farhat, Brand COO of Mondrian Hotels & Residences, stated. “It felt a natural choice to bring Mondrian to the Gold Coast, and we believe it will resonate strongly with the local market and lend something entirely new to the hospitality space.”
