The new coastal enclave marks Regent’s return to the Americas
Luxury hotel brand Regent Hotels & Resorts has returned to the United States with the launch of Regent Santa Monica Beach, located near Santa Monica Pier. The hotel’s debut marks Regent’s first flagship property in the Americas under IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury portfolio.
“It is an honour to reintroduce this legacy brand to Southern California and ignite a new era of unforgettable memories for our guests in Santa Monica,” stated Regent Santa Monica General Manager Younes Atallah.
“Our resort captures the unique allure of Santa Monica in a serene setting where you can disconnect from the outside world and experience Regent’s legendary hospitality on your terms.”
The property’s design was led by Chantell Walsh of Strategic Hotels & Resorts, who worked alongside AvroKO’s San Francisco studio and interiors company Wimberly Interiors. The hotel draws inspiration from nautical themes and California’s coastal landscape, incorporating yacht-inspired elements and a palette of blue and green to reference the nearby Pacific Ocean.
The resort’s 167 guestrooms and suites start at 67 square metres and showcase spa-inspired bathrooms, in-room dining spaces and considered amenities such as Bose speakers and Dyson hairdryers. At the upper echelon of the hotel’s room categories sit the Santa Monica Presidential Suite, with 297 square metres and expansive ocean views; and the Oceanfront Atrium Two-Story Suite, which provides 202 square metres across two floors.
Regent Santa Monica Beach also offers the Regent Experience Manager service, ensuring each guest’s stay includes personalised support from arrival to departure.
The new hotel takes family-friendly to a new level, thanks to unique partnerships with luxury baby brands CYBEX and Nestig that offer guests premium child equipment, including high-end strollers and adjustable 3-in-1 cots. There is also a children’s program, Seascape Explorers, to keep little ones busy.
Culinary offerings at Regent Santa Monica Beach have been crafted under the direction of chef Michael Mina. Orla, the property’s main restaurant, offers Mediterranean flavors combined with fresh Californian ingredients; while Sweet July Café by Ayesha Curry serves a California market-inspired menu infused with Jamaican influences.
The resort’s wellness amenities include the expansive, 929-square-metre Guerlain Wellness Spa, which showcases design that merges coastal Californian style with Mediterranean influences. The Azure Pool, located above the beach, is peppered with cabanas and sunbeds, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre caters to the health-conscious.
Since joining IHG in 2018, Regent Hotels & Resorts has expanded its footprint, with the Santa Monica Beach property joining other flagship locations such as Regent Hong Kong, Regent Shanghai and Regent Phu Quoc. The brand has announced it will open new properties in Jeddah and Kyoto in the coming years.
Room rates at Regent Santa Monica Beach begin at USD$1,100 per night, with IHG One Rewards members eligible to earn and redeem points during their stays.
