Set to open this June, Numo Mykonos boutique resort will add quiet luxury to Kalafati Beach, a surfer’s paradise
Numo Hotels & Resorts is set to unveil Numo Mykonos, its latest high-aesthetic boutique resort, on Mykonos’ scenic Kalafati Beach this June.
Numo Mykonos promises to blend the nostalgic charm of the 60s and 70s with modern Cycladic influences. Designed by What The Studio architects, with interiors curated by Ioanna Mitropoulou, the resort aims to offer a unique mix of historical charm and modern sophistication.
Following Numo’s core design philosophy, the resort draws inspiration from local nature and traditional materials, presenting them in an imaginative manner. The resort, housed in an authentic Mykonian building, features carefully remodelled spaces that preserve and highlight traditional Cycladic elements such as curves, stone-built arches, built-in lounges, and black-and-white striped marble floors.
Numo Mykonos comprises 27 rooms and suites, each exuding a relaxed yet luxurious Cycladic style. The decor palette mirrors the surrounding landscape, incorporating oceanic emerald and blue-green tones, golden sand hues, and sunset shades.
Distinctive design elements can be found throughout the resort. Handmade reed and rattan lighting fixtures, inspired by the iconic straw hats often seen in Mykonos, were crafted by artisans in Crete. Additionally, the pool bar features handmade Chamotte tiles by Patricia Urquiola for Mutina, and Italian “clostrà” (ceramic coverings) provide privacy and shade in gardens and balconies.
The Evergreen Absolute Suite stands out as the pinnacle of Numo Mykonos’ accommodations. It offers a private garden and pool that epitomise the resort’s quiet luxury, along with stunning views of Kalafati.
Guests at Numo Mykonos can indulge in various experiences designed to showcase the best of the island. Anemoessa Restaurant offers an all-day menu crafted by executive chef Nikos Kourkoutas, using local organic produce to highlight Mykonos’ rich culinary traditions, including fresh seafood, traditional Greek dishes, and local cheeses.
The Màre Màre bar, overseen by beverage director Konstantinos Theodorakopoulos, features signature cocktails that blend Greek traditions with sustainable practices.
For relaxation and wellbeing, the resort includes the organic Etherea Boutique Spa and the Ensoma fitness spaces, which offer both indoor and outdoor workout options. Guests can also shop for resort wear and designs created by Greek designers at the Mosaique boutique.
