TURKEY’S EXTRAORDINARY ART GALLERY DOING AN EXTRAORDINARY EXHIBITION HOSTED….

Danger is the period which human exists through time. As a matter of fact, time perception is a worm gnawing individual’s selfness by the thoughts of past and future. Our existence can only make a sense when it achieves its existence in the moment.

This sense doesn’t need to be something profound. It just exists and can be perceived. Whether we speak of the possibility of global peace in a political or religious way or not, the result would be destruction and chaos. With or without a reason, no individual can live in their peaceful world as long as they are connected to a community. In opposition to social integration, peace lurks in individual transformation.

This is because individual is what forms community. As long as an individual couldn’t find his/her inner peace, he/she would move away from both his/her own reality and imaginary peace concept. Every adult is a child afraid of unknown and every child is a victim of adults grew up with fears against time. Either philosophical or scientific, as long as we don’t keep away from all the thoughts that are established on doctrines whether philosophical or scientific, and refuse to deal with our own reality, terror and war will be inevitable.

And within this war, children are not the only defeated ones but also we, spiritually immature grown up children, are going to be the victims of this murder designed by our own hands..

GaleriBU was established by artist Umut Yalım in February 2012 in Galata, where in one of the most historical and touristic places of İstanbul is.

The heading aim of GaleriBU is exhibiting the artists both from Turkey and all over the world to larger audiences through a universal art perspective.

GaleriBU is not limited by any definitive concept. Through an extensive art view, GaleriBU opens its doors to artists from any branch while the gallery also gives importance to exhibit the works of young artists’.

GaleriBU is not an inception nor a conclusion for artists; it is a process. GaleriBU is not an art gallery which gains its form through anyone’s decisions, but through the people and artists who get involved in. The primary principle of GaleriBU is transmitting the art as it is without reforming it by rules, fictions, and instutionalization.

As an art gallery GaleriBU differs from the others by opening its each floor to its functional usage. The first two floors are being used for monthly personal or collective exhibitions of art; while it also hosts poem or music performances, workshops, pop-up stores, and special events.

On the third floor of the gallery, textile and leather goods designer Hasan Koca has his showroom since February 2015, which blends fashion and arts with a minimal view.
