With the new year comes New Year’s resolutions. And for many, that might be to travel more. But with the whole world as an option, how do you decide exactly where to book your getaway? Well, how about booking a stay at a hotel that’s not even open yet?

Yes, it seems the hospitality industry has some resolutions of its own as some luxury properties are set to debut this year. Book a room at one of these new-to-market hotels as the first step in your adventure planning goal. These are 10 of the most highly-anticipated hotels opening in 2018 around the world.

1. Rosewood Miramar Beach Montecito in Santa Barbara, CA

Opening in summer 2018, this 16-acre private beachfront property will be located on the site of the former Miramar Beach Hotel, a 100-year-old landmark. Guests will be treated to everything they’d expect from a Rosewood property including six restaurants, a spa, and two swimming pools. But, the most exciting part of all is that they’re the first resort in Santa Barbara to offer beachfront suites allowing guests to walk directly from their accommodations onto the sand.

2. The Fairlane Hotel in Nashville, TN

Tucked away in downtown Nashville and steps from the action on Broadway, the 81-room boutique hotel hopes to bring back the style and personality of the 1960’s. Opening in early 2018, the owners hope the lobby (which will feature the first outpost of NYC’s famed Mile End Delicatessen as well as Union Teller Coffee Counter, serving Stumptown coffee) becomes a hub for power lunches and work drinks (the business), while the 4,000-square-foot penthouse will feature a wraparound terrace, providing the best views of Music City (the party).

Located in Tower Bridge on Tooley St., an area which is considered the heart of artistic creativity, The Dixon is set to be London’s newest boutique-style hotel. The focus of both the aesthetic and amenities will focus on art, heritage, culture, and design. Local artists’ work is highlight in all spaces throughout. Guests will also be able to choose from a variety of programming that engages with the local community.

The latest property from luxury hospitality group Baglioni is set to open this summer in the paradisiacal Maldives. Located on the secluded private island of Maagau, the resort will feature will 96 garden, beach and over-water villas, including a two-story, three-bedroom villa, four restaurants, kids club, dive center, sports activities and excursions, such as a trip to the local village of goldsmiths, sunset fishing, and scuba diving. To relax, even more, the spa will offer Ayurvedic and Thai therapies with indigenous Maldivian ingredients.

5. One&Only Gorilla’s Nest in Rwanda

How many properties can cite gorillas as one of their amenities? Well, the One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, set to open in late 2018, will help guests get up close the famous mountain gorillas. Located near the village of Kingi, you will be able to explore the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes range known for these endangered mammals. After your trek to find these spectacular creatures, you can relax back at the onsite spa featuring treatments using traditional African elements.

You can’t help but get some serious FOMO when people post social media pics from the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. Well, you can get one up them in 2018 by booking a stay at the Retreat at Blue Lagoon Iceland. The new property will feature 62 guest suites situated in the lava, surrounded by the famous mineral-rich waters and all with floor-to-ceiling windows of the incredible views. The terraces will even give access to the geothermal waters below.

Montage resorts are situated all over the U.S., but this will be the first international property of the brand. Opening in May, the luxury property will have over 120 guest rooms on almost 40 acres along Santa Maria Bay. The area is known for its amazing diving, or you can simply lounge by the 20,000-square-foot pool spanning two levels. For golf fans, a new Fred Couples Signature golf course will also be designed and open later in the year.

Known as the “Silicon Valley of India,” Bengaluru is quickly becoming the heart of business, art and entertainment and the new Conrad Bengaluru will be located in the center of it all. Overlooking the iconic Ulsoor/Halasuru Lake, the luxury property will blend old-world details with modern amenities highlighting the changing local environment. After exploring the bustling area, you can relax in the on-site spa or outdoor patio.

9. MGM Cotai in Macao, China

The MGM Cotai marks the first hotel to open since Macao was designated a UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy. While it is the second MGM hotel in Macao, it’s set to be even more impressive with the main entrance decorated with the largest lion in the MGM collection (over 36 feet tall) and gilded entirely in gold leaf. The hotel itself is designed to look like a tiered gold, silver, and bronze jewelry box and will have a strong culinary focus, kicking off with an impressive lineup of internationally celebrated chefs such as Janice Wong.

This hotel is set to make you rethink your traditional accommodations. Downtown Camper prides itself on being a community and helping guests make connections with each other. So, the 494 rooms can be joined together with a communal space to offer a more social hotel experience for larger groups. For group activities, you can head up to The Nest, the hotel’s rooftop retreat, where they will offer yoga classes, an outdoor pool, experience showers, mindfulness classes, and more. Campfire, the hotel’s on-site restaurant and bar, has an actual campfire that serves as a gathering point for guests.
